W6HW1 Chapter 6 Info about Your Field

My career choice is to be a social worker and  it has some large professional organizations. Some of these organizations which is some of the largest include ANSWER, Council of Social Work Education, and National Association of Social Work.

The three important journals that social workers organizations have read are The Common Factors Model: Implications for Trans theoretical Clinical Social Work Practice, The Strengths Perspective in Social Work Practice: Extensions and Cautions, and the Actor-Centered Social Work: Re-visioning “Person-in-Environment” through a Critical Theory Lens.

Some of the three important online discussions or bulletin boards are the National Institute of Health Directory of Listserv Discussion Groups, Child Maltreatment Research Email Listserv, and Society for Community Research and Action (SCRA) Listserv. 

Some upcoming events that some of the social work organizations are hosting are, 

CSWE 2016 Annual Program Meeting The 2016 APM will be held at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia. March 11-12 – TransCon by Aqua Foundation. Miami, FL, and on March 12 – Co-host League of Women Voters Forum: Open Government and You. Ft. Myers, FL. 

I will describe my research process as pretty difficult as there is so much information on the variety of organizations affiliated with my career. I would like to add that this experience was interested because it opened my eyes with the amount of resource that is out there for my career. If i want to find what I am looking for it will take a great deal of effort to look for it and that is how I felt when I looked up this information.
